Back of Card DESCRIPTION

One of the most abundant large mammals in North America, the white-tailed deer ranges over much of the continent. Thirty subspecies are recognized, of which 17 are found north of Mexico. White-tails are more plentiful today than when Europeans first settled in the New World. The cutting of forests and farming have favored deer populations, as deer are offered more resources in fields and woods edges than deep forests.

The deer’s senses are very acute, especially hearing and vision. A deer can easily detect contrasts and edges in twilight. People who have deer as a totem may find their ability to see subtle movements increase, and to hear what is not being said.

When a deer shows up in your life, pay attention to your inner thoughts. A gentle luring to new adventure is taking place. Be gentle with yourself and those around you.
