Description

These long-lived animals are fearless hunters.  Their strength and ability to stalk without being seen make them great predators.  Alligators and their crocodilian relatives are threatened from hunters to satisfy human demand for products from crocodilian skins.  Loss of habitat has also taken its toll on alligator populations.  Human development, new roads, bridges and dams all negatively impact alligator populations.
