Stone Wall
An old stone wall deep in the forest – it tells a story about the short lives of people and the eternity of Nature.
People came long ago and cut the forest down and made fields and pastures in its place. They cleared all the larger stones from the fields and made walls from them.
But the forest was not meant to be a field, nor stones meant to be a wall. The forest slowly returns and the stone wall falls back to the ground from which it came. No work of man can endure if it is not also in harmony with the design of Nature.
