Though the Blue Copper butterfly is blue, it belongs to the Copper groups of butterflies, not the Blues. They are a frequent visitor to mountain canyons, sagelands, river valleys and plateaus.

The beautiful orange and brown Satyr Angelwing is named “Satyr” after the magical beings that frequent wooded glades. It occurs from the Pacific Ocean to the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountains.

With their rare beauty, gift of flight and ability to metamorphose into a new form, butterflies are the subject of many ancient myths. Often they are a symbol of regeneration, rebirth and joy.
