Made in the USA

The big brown bat inhabits a wide range of territory extending from Canada to northern South America. This may be a result of its ability to adapt to the human world. Big brown bats often nest in attics and barns and as a result have more contact with people than other species of bats.

Often weighing only ¾ of an ounce, the big brown bat’s fur is black at the roots which lightens to varying shades of brown on the surface. The brown fur is usually lighter in desert areas and darker in more forested regions.

Bats are the only true flying mammal, and are very beneficial to the environment by feeding on insects and aiding in the pollination of many plants. In China they have been symbols of happiness, good luck, and long life. Bats can teach us to face our fears only to find that there is value hidden within them.
